Payroll & A/R Specialist – Temp to Hire | Irvine, CA (92606)
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Payroll & A/R Specialist for a fully on-site, temp-to-hire opportunity in Irvine, CA. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong QuickBooks payroll experience, accounts receivable knowledge, and medium-level Excel skills.

This position supports billing, payroll processing, and collections functions within a fast-paced, professional environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional accuracy when handling financial data, maintain strict confidentiality, and take accountability for work quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll accurately and on schedule using QuickBooks
Maintain payroll records including taxes, deductions, and PTO calculations
Prepare and process project billings and ensure timely customer submission
Manage billing folders, job logs, and billing calendars
Review retention billing requirements monthly
Assist with accounts receivable collections and invoice follow-up
Respond to internal and external billing inquiries
Prepare expense reports and supporting documentation
Generate reports using Excel, including pivot tables
Maintain high levels of organization, follow-up, and data accuracy
Required Qualifications (Must Be Met):
Minimum 3+ years of experience in QuickBooks payroll, billing, and A/R
Strong, recent hands-on experience using QuickBooks Payroll
Medium-level Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables and reporting)
Solid understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, and PTO processing
Strong attention to detail — accuracy is critical with no exceptions
Ability to work 100% on-site in Irvine, CA (no remote work)
Professional discretion when handling confidential information
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a collaborative team environment
Experience in the architectural, engineering, or technical services industry is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Work Schedule & Compensation:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay rate: $34 – $36 per hour (based on experience)
