A community-focused healthcare organization in North County San Diego is seeking an experienced Patient Services Representative to support front-office operations and help deliver a positive, efficient patient experience. Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors, provide excellent customer service, and support a welcoming front-office experience.
- Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments according to established procedures.
- Complete patient check-in and check-out, registration, demographic updates, and documentation review.
- Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, benefits, and third-party payer information.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming calls while assisting patients with questions and appointment needs.
- Process copayments and patient account payments while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $23 to $27 per hour.
- Employment type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Work setting: Onsite.
- Location: North County San Diego.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical or medical office experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with insurance verification, sequencing, and interpreting benefits.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience using practice-management and electronic health record systems.
- Knowledge of third-party payers, eligibility requirements, and patient registration workflows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Ability to scan, upload, and manage patient documentation within an EHR system.
- Current AED/CPR certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
- Strong customer service, communication, organization, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment while handling confidential information.
- Must meet applicable pre-employment screening and background requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPIC experience highly preferred.
- Post-secondary training or certification preferred.
- Experience in a community health, public sector, or patient-centered healthcare environment.
