We are seeking an experienced Patient Services Representative for a contract/temporary opportunity supporting a community-focused healthcare organization in North San Diego County. This onsite, non-clinical role is ideal for a medical front-office professional who enjoys helping patients, coordinating appointments, verifying insurance, and keeping clinic operations running smoothly.

The Patient Services Representative will serve as a key front-desk resource, creating a welcoming patient experience while supporting accurate registration, scheduling, check-in, documentation, and payment processes. Key Responsibilities

- Greet patients and visitors, support check-in and check-out, and provide a professional and welcoming front-desk experience.
- Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments while following established clinic protocols.
- Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, benefits, and third-party payer information to support accurate registration and billing.
- Enter, update, scan, and maintain patient records and documentation within the electronic health record system, including EPIC when applicable.
- Answer and route incoming calls, respond to patient questions, and help resolve scheduling changes, wait-time concerns, and front-office issues.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to support patient flow, appointment prioritization, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay Rate: $27 to $33 per hour.
- Job Type: Contract/Temporary. (This position has the potential to transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs.)
- Work Setting: Onsite, with the possibility of supporting multiple clinic locations.
- Location: North San Diego County.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of clinical or medical office experience required.
- 2+ years of experience verifying insurance, interpreting benefits, and working with third-party coverage.
- 2+ years of experience using practice-management systems and electronic health record systems.
- Knowledge of third-party payers, publicly funded healthcare programs, eligibility requirements, and front-office healthcare procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, customer service, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment while handling confidential patient information.
- Current AED/CPR certification required or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
- Successful completion of required pre-employment screening and background requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

- EPIC experience strongly preferred.
- Post-secondary training or certification preferred.
- Experience supporting multiple clinic locations or high-volume patient scheduling environments.
- Familiarity with community healthcare, public sector healthcare programs, or publicly funded patient services.
