Patient Services Representative

In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth experience from registration through checkout. You will support daily clinical operations by managing scheduling, insurance verification, payment processing, and patient communications.

Key Responsibilities

Assist patients with registration, insurance/financial information, and electronic health record entry
Verify insurance eligibility, copayments, and provider information
Manage appointment scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations, and referrals
Process payments, reconcile receipts, and maintain accurate financial documentation
Scan and maintain patient records, forms, and documentation in the EHR
Provide patients with appointment instructions, updates, and follow-up communications
Ensure smooth daily workflow by prioritizing patient flow and supporting staff needs
Deliver excellent customer service with professionalism, compassion, and confidentiality

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
1–3 years of experience in a service-oriented administrative office environment
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in word processing/keyboarding
Exceptional customer service and ability to stay calm under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a medical office setting
Knowledge of managed care requirements
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
Bilingual skills a plus
