We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Participant Advocate to support individuals experiencing homelessness in a shelter environment. This is a temporary assignment starting at 30 days, with the potential to extend.
This overnight role supports participants in a housing-focused, trauma-informed setting. The ideal candidate is empathetic, professional, and comfortable working with vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing substance use, behavioral health challenges, and trauma histories.
Schedule:
Tuesday through Thursday 10:00pm to 6:00am
Friday and Saturday 12:00am to 8:00am
Shift differential offered for overnight shifts
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement & Advocacy
* Provide compassionate, trauma-informed support to participants
* Promote a housing-first, harm reduction approach
* Maintain professional boundaries while modeling healthy behaviors
* Respond to participant needs and help communicate program expectations
* Support conflict resolution using respectful and solution-focused methods
* Share appropriate resources and referrals to assist participants in obtaining housing
Documentation & Data Entry
* Assist with participant intake, screening, and enrollment
* Maintain accurate, timely documentation and case notes
* Enter and track data in HMIS and other required systems
* Support compliance with program and contract requirements
Resource & Team Collaboration
* Maintain knowledge of community resources and partner agencies
* Build positive working relationships with internal teams and external partners
* Participate in staff meetings and required trainings
