A legal services organization in Encino, CA is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support insurance defense attorneys in a direct hire role. This opportunity is ideal for a litigation-focused Paralegal with strong case management skills, excellent document preparation experience, and confidence supporting matters from discovery through trial.
The Paralegal will work closely with attorneys and legal support teams in a professional, collaborative environment where accuracy, organization, and proactive communication are valued. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to case strategy, trial preparation, and litigation support while working with a team that values dependable legal professionals and high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, organize, analyze, and summarize claim files, reports, records, and other case materials.
- Prepare pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, interrogatories, post-judgment pleadings, abstracts, writs, levying documents, and appeals-related materials for attorney review.
- Assist with deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, witness preparation, mediation, arbitration, and trial support.
- Prepare deposition binders, trial binders, exhibits, demonstrative evidence, and courtroom presentation materials.
- Maintain case files, manage litigation deadlines, support discovery workflows, and assist with legal research and case organization.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 to $95,000 per year.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Work location: In person in Encino, CA.
- Pay is commensurate with skills and years of experience.
- Support insurance defense attorneys with litigation case management, discovery, trial preparation, and document production.
- Prepare and organize pleadings, discovery, exhibits, deposition materials, and trial binders.
- Conduct legal research, analyze claim files, and assist with investigations and case strategy.
- Provide litigation support at mediation, arbitration, depositions, and trial.
- 6 to 10 years of relevant paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense litigation.
- Paralegal Certificate required.
- Strong experience preparing pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests, discovery responses, correspondence, interrogatories, and post-judgment pleadings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with e-discovery databases, including CS Disco.
- Knowledge of Bates stamping, redaction processes, document organization, and litigation file management.
- Ability to conduct accurate legal research using Westlaw.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to manage competing deadlines in a litigation environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of iManage.
- Knowledge of Trial Director.
- Experience with courtroom technology setup, deposition clip editing, real-time support, and trial presentation tools.
