Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys with a variety of tasks including legal research, drafting documents, case preparation, and managing files. This role is vital in ensuring the legal department runs efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research and summarize findings
Prepare, draft, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, subpoenas, and discovery responses
Organize and maintain case files, legal correspondence, and other records
Assist with trial preparation, including compiling exhibits and preparing witness lists
File documents with state and federal courts electronically and in person
Communicate with clients, witnesses, and outside counsel under attorney supervision
Maintain a calendar of deadlines and ensure timely filing and compliance
Support the legal team in administrative tasks and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
2+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant (experience in [corporate, litigation, family law, etc.] a plus)
Familiarity with legal terminology, court systems, and procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with e-filing systems and legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
