Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Packaging Operator for a direct hire opportunity in Mentor, OH. This role is ideal for a manufacturing professional with 3-5 years of production, packaging, filling, or machine operation experience who enjoys hands-on work in a structured, team-oriented environment.

The Packaging Operator will operate filling and packaging equipment used to package bulk adhesives and sealants into cartridges and other containers, prepare finished goods for palletizing, and support accurate production documentation. Key Responsibilities

- Operate filling and packaging equipment according to production schedules, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.
- Read and interpret process orders, verify materials and packaging components, record lot numbers, and complete production paperwork accurately.
- Apply labels, bar codes, and date codes at the unit, case, drum, or related packaging level according to work order instructions.
- Perform palletizing, housekeeping, cartridge reclaim, vat cleaning, and other production support duties as required.
- Complete minor equipment troubleshooting, operator maintenance, and routine checks to support uptime and product quality.
- Follow all safety, health, environmental, PPE, 5S, and continuous improvement practices while helping maintain a clean and efficient work area.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary Range: $40,000 to $47,000 per year.
- Job Type: Direct Hire.
- Location: Mentor, OH.
- Available Shifts:
- 6:30am to 2:30pm.
- 2:30pm to 10:30pm.
- 10:30pm to 6:30am.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Operate filling machines and packaging equipment used in manufacturing production.
- Verify process orders, labels, date codes, lot numbers, and packaging requirements for accuracy.
- Perform operator maintenance, minor troubleshooting, housekeeping, and production documentation.
- Support safety, quality, continuous improvement, and efficient production performance.

- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing, packaging, production, machine operation, or filling line experience preferred for this role.
- Completion of required manufacturing, operations, and safety training requirements.
- PIT certification required where applicable.
- Ability to operate with a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand process order documentation, label systems, date code formats, and basic production paperwork.
- Basic math skills and ability to enter production quantities into an ERP system.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis.
- Strong communication, organization, dependability, punctuality, and team-oriented work habits.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy and compliance with procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience operating two or more types of filling or packaging machines.
- Experience with holding tanks, valves, transfer lines, pumps, fillers, or related manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with in-line pigmenting processes, raw material pot charging, quality checks, troubleshooting, or minor maintenance.
- Familiarity with ERP production entries, inventory cycle counts, 5S, OEE, and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to train other operators, support safety initiatives, and contribute to process improvement projects.
