Sales Representative (In-Home Consultative) | Southern California | Base + Commission | $85K+ Year 1
A rapidly growing home improvement company is hiring an in-home Sales Representative to run pre-set appointments, measure properties, build proposals, and close deals. If you are a consultative closer who can manage a full sales cycle and follow up with consistency, this is a high-opportunity role with strong lead support and real earning power.
Compensation
Ramp-up base: $800/week for the first 2 months (may be extended based on performance and ramp needs)
Commission: 7% on company-generated leads, 9% on self-generated leads
Earnings potential: $85,000+ first year, $100,000 to $125,000 second year
What you will do
Run 3 in-home appointments per day (about 50 to 60 per month)
Perform on-site measurements and assess the property
Guide homeowners through product options and set realistic expectations
Build clear estimates and proposals
Follow up through a longer sales cycle (often weeks to months)
Maintain accurate notes and updates in the pipeline
Deliver activity and pipeline updates to sales leadership
Build referral business through strong customer experience
Performance expectations
Appointment attendance: 100%
Close rate: 25%+ (about 12 to 15 deals per month)
Average deal size: $12,000
Target monthly sales by month 3: $100,000 to $150,000

What we are looking for
Required
Proven experience closing deals in a consultative sales environment
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (heavy daily driving)
Strong time management, independence, and follow-through
Comfortable working outdoors and walking properties
Basic computer skills for proposals and documentation
Preferred
In-home sales or home improvement background (fencing, roofing, windows, solar, HVAC, construction, etc.)
Experience managing longer sales cycles (30 to 90 days)
History of generating referral business
Territory and schedule
Territory includes San Fernando Valley, Ventura, and Northeastern Los Angeles
3 appointments per day
Expect 4 to 5 hours per appointment including travel, measurements, estimates, and follow-up
Territory assignment is flexible based on business needs and candidate preference
