We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Ortho Fitter for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Shreveport, LA. This role is an excellent fit for a Medical Assistant or direct patient care professional who wants to move beyond a traditional medical office setting and develop a specialized healthcare skill set in orthotics and durable medical equipment.
As an Ortho Fitter, you will work directly with patients who need orthopedic braces and orthotic devices, helping ensure proper fit, comfort, education, and ongoing support. Prior orthotics or durable medical equipment experience is preferred, but training and education will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with patients who require orthopedic braces, supports, and other orthotic devices.
- Assist with proper fitting, adjustment, and basic modification of orthotic equipment.
- Educate patients on the correct use, care, and maintenance of their devices.
- Use basic hand tools as needed to support fittings and device adjustments.
- Maintain accurate patient information, documentation, and service records.
- Participate in a required on-call hospital rotation approximately every 4 to 5 weeks after completing necessary training.
Compensation and Benefits
- Temp-to-hire opportunity.
- Starting pay: $15.00+ per hour, depending on experience.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

- Required on-call hospital rotation approximately every 4 to 5 weeks, including 24/7 availability during the assigned rotation.
- Provide hands-on patient support for orthotic fittings and device adjustments.
- Educate patients on safe and proper use of orthopedic braces and orthotic equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established patient care procedures.
- Complete training required to support the on-call hospital rotation.
- Previous direct patient care experience or Medical Assistant experience is required.
- 1 to 2 years of healthcare experience preferred based on role level.
- Comfortable working directly with patients in a healthcare setting.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and learn new procedures.
- Pleasant, professional, caring, patient, and compassionate demeanor.
- Dependable and willing to participate in the required on-call rotation.
- Strong desire to learn and develop a specialized healthcare skill set.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with orthotics, orthopedic braces, or durable medical equipment.
- Basic ability to use hand tools for fittings, adjustments, or device modifications.
- Experience in a medical office, clinic, hospital, or patient care environment.
