Job Summary Required Qualifications and Skills
We are seeking an Operator Technician for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Silver Spring, MD. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, technically minded candidate who enjoys hands-on production work in a scientific or medical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Load pathology slides from customer storage into designated baskets and prepare them for digitization.
- Unload slides after scanning and return them accurately to customer storage locations.
- Review scanned slide images flagged for manual quality review and determine whether rescanning is needed.
- Clean, maintain, and calibrate scanning instruments according to established schedules and procedures.
- Troubleshoot equipment errors or scanning issues and escalate concerns when needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, instrument issues, maintenance activity, and quality review results.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $18 to $20 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: Silver Spring, MD.
- Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm
- High school diploma required.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in a medical, laboratory, pathology, healthcare, manufacturing, or technical production environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures.
- Aptitude for operating medical or scientific instruments.
- Strong computer skills and comfort working with digital systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with local and offshore team members.
- Self-starter with the ability to stay organized and productive during assigned shifts.
- Familiarity with quality assurance processes in a regulated, medical, scientific, or technical production environment.
