A growing local business in North County San Diego is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee daily shop operations and coordinate plumbing and installation projects. Required Qualifications and Skills
The Operations Manager will play a key role in ensuring installations are scheduled properly, materials and equipment are ready, customers and installers are informed, and day-to-day operations run smoothly. This position offers steady Monday through Friday hours, direct collaboration with ownership, a supportive shop team, and the opportunity to earn additional installation-based incentives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shop operations, workflow, organization, and readiness for upcoming installation jobs.
- Coordinate and schedule plumbing, installation, and service projects to support timely completion.
- Complete assigned plumbing installations accurately, efficiently, and according to company standards.
- Ensure materials, equipment, supplies, and job details are prepared.
- Track installation schedules, monitor job progress, and help resolve scheduling or operational issues.
- Communicate professionally with customers, ownership, and internal shop team members.
- Support overall business efficiency by maintaining an organized, well-stocked, and dependable shop operation.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $60,000-$80,000 DOE.
- Additional incentive: 50 percent of installation fees for completed installations.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant operations, plumbing, installation, construction, or service-industry experience.
- Plumbing experience is highly preferred.
- Strong scheduling, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple jobs, deadlines, and priorities in a hands-on environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.
- Ability to work effectively in a small-business setting and collaborate closely with ownership and team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting plumbing or installation operations.
- Experience working in a small-business environment.
- Background coordinating field installers, construction crews, service technicians, or job materials.
- Familiarity with shop organization, inventory readiness, and installation scheduling.
