Our client is an established aerospace manufacturing company seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations. This is a key leadership opportunity for a hands-on operations professional with strong experience in aerospace, manufacturing, machining, production planning, and shop-floor leadership. 10+ years of management/leadership experience in manufacturing or operations
The Operations Manager will oversee operations from RFQ through production, ensuring production schedules, capacity, quality, delivery, staffing, and operational goals are met.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage day-to-day manufacturing and production operations
Oversee operations from RFQ through production and final delivery
Develop and manage production schedules, capacity planning, and resource allocation
Lead and develop production and department teams
Monitor production performance, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery
Establish and track KPIs and use data to identify areas for improvement
Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions
Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities
Manage tooling, equipment, materials, and other operational resources
Partner with Quality, Engineering, Sales, and other departments to resolve issues and meet customer requirements
Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing operations
Monitor department budgets and operational costs
Support customer requirements and provide updates regarding production status
Ensure employees are properly trained and developed
Maintain compliance with applicable quality and aerospace standards
Utilize MRP/ERP and other systems to support production planning and operational management
Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment
Strong production planning and scheduling experience
Experience with capacity planning, resource allocation, and shop-floor operations
Proven experience managing production teams and developing employees
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow
Experience tracking KPIs, quality, efficiency, productivity, and OTD
Experience with continuous improvement and process optimization
Knowledge of AS9100 or aerospace quality systems preferred
Experience with MRP/ERP systems
Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
Ability to read and understand manufacturing requirements and specifications
Familiarity with mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers, comparators, and thread gauges
Experience with tooling and equipment management
Budget management and cost-control experience
Strong project management and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong leadership, coaching, and team-development abilities
Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced production environment
Thread rolling and/or fastener manufacturing experience is a plus
