The Operations Manager oversees all warehouse, routes, transportation, and logistics operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant food distribution. This role leads operational teams, implements standard operating procedures, manages labor and operational costs, and ensures compliance with all applicable food safety, regulatory, and workplace safety requirements. In addition, the Operations Manager serves as ambassador, modeling the company’s values, culture, and leadership behaviors, and fostering a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment. The role partners cross-functionally to support operational performance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives.


II. Essential Functions


· Direct all warehouse, routes, transportation, and logistics operations in Puerto Rico and the USVI.

· Develop, implement, and maintain Operations SOPs and procedures.

· Oversee operational leadership, warehouse teams, and route team.

· Monitor team morale, workload distribution, and staffing levels.

· Track departmental productivity and operational performance.

· Develop or adjust roles and positions to meet operational needs.

· Monitor daily operational expenses and labor costs.

· Design and manage incentive programs aligned with performance.

· Create and communicate operational schedules, including holidays and emergency plans.

· Oversee warehouse preventive maintenance schedules.

· Ensure inventory accuracy, stock rotation (FIFO), and product quality across all locations.

· Maintain accurate inventory records across multiple warehouse sites.

· Oversee facility and warehouse equipment maintenance and upkeep.

· Manage transportation operations, routing, scheduling, and fleet maintenance.

· Oversee quality assurance standards for products, services, and customer experience.

· Streamline order fulfillment, picking, packing, and delivery processes.

· Ensure consistent, reliable delivery and timely resolution of operational issues.

· Compliance execution with FDA, USDA (as applicable), HACCP, FSMA, and local health regulations.

· Enforce OSHA standards and promote a safety-first culture.

· Maintain temperature integrity throughout storage and delivery.

· Enforce sanitation and hygiene standards in facilities and vehicles.

· Support geographic and service expansion through scalable operations.

· Lead weekly operations meetings and participate in cross-functional meetings.

· Maintain accurate operational, safety, and compliance documentation.
