Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Specialist with a strong background in affordable housing to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience completing annual and interim recertifications, reviewing resident files, and ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local housing regulations. A strong working knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, and other subsidized housing programs is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and process interim and annual recertifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Review completed rental applications and lease agreements for accuracy and compliance with the Resident Selection Policy.

Ensure move-in files are completed accurately and on time, meeting all regulatory guidelines.

Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant resident files and documentation.

Provide support to residents in completing required paperwork while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Ensure residents remain in compliance with their lease agreements, community rules, and program regulations.

Uphold Fair Housing, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and Equal Housing Opportunity (EHO) standards at all times.

Maintain positive, professional relationships with residents while exercising good judgment, consistency, and discretion.

Collaborate with property management and other staff to ensure timely and accurate compliance reporting.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in affordable housing, compliance, social services, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of subsidized housing programs including LIHTC and HUD.

Tax Credit Specialist (TCS), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), or equivalent certification required.

Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and file management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet regulatory deadlines.

High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to compliance standards.
