Nutrition Coordinator Job Description
Requirements
-Ability to communicate professionally, via telephone, electronically, and in person, with both the general public and agency personnel.
-Strong written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
-Ability to lead and organize classes and engagement strategies to enhance brand recognition throughout Santa Clara County
-Basic knowledge of routine office procedures and application of project management
-Proficient computer skills
-Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple deadlines in a timely manner.
-Ability to function as part of a team and work under limited direction/independently as directed/needed
Qualification:
-Bilingual Vietnamese/English
-Required Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or Gerontology or 4 years of experience in relevant field and experience.
-2 years’ experience in Community Engagement and Outreach
-1 year experience Project Management Skills
-Experience in Nutrition Education Curriculum
-Knowledge of Food Insecurity and Health Disparities
-Experience working with diverse cultural groups and sensitivity to cultural variations.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the database, including all community outreach planning activities and reporting requirements.
-Represents the organization at classes and other opportunities to heighten awareness and build support for the program.
-Ability to adapt within a fast-paced work environment and to reprioritize work based on business needs to ensure deadlines are met.
-Respond to telephone and email inquiries from consumers interested in receiving SNAP-Ed information.
-Work collaboratively with agency staff to meet program and contractual requirements as assigned.
-Act as a brand champion within the organization and for the general public.
-Provide community outreach conduct, surveys, presentations, evaluations and publicly engage an audience.
-Managing and planning the execution of events in a timely manner.
-Serve as the primary contact for new SNAP-Ed opportunities, evaluating proposals for outreach and partnerships.
-Vet all incoming proposals for potential partnership for outreach and networking opportunities.
-Act as outreach project lead; coordinate with external and internal parties; confirm event participants and attendance.
-Engage a wide range of audiences through community in a knowledgeable, articulate, and professional manner.
-Demonstrate knowledge of all company services
-Manage phone and in-person intakes for new clients, collecting and recording eligibility information.
