Non-Clinical Intake Coordinator
Department: Utilization Management
Pay is $26.00 per hour.
Hybrid Non-Clinical Intake Coordinator Certified position supporting the Utilization Management team with referral intake, authorization processing, and coordination of medical services.
This role works closely with providers, members, and clinical staff to gather referral details, review requests, obtain additional medical information, and help ensure timely, accurate service determinations.
Responsibilities include screening calls, processing referrals, reviewing member eligibility and prior authorizations, assigning diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10 and CPT, tracking provider service appeals, entering authorization data accurately, and helping coordinate services across internal departments. The position also serves as a resource for junior intake staff and supports daily operations in a fast-paced managed care environment. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a Medical Assistant degree, diploma, certificate, or CNA credential. At least two years of managed care experience, two years of data entry and computer experience, and proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and medical terminology are required.
The role is hybrid after training, which is completed on-site.
This temporary position requires a five-day workweek, and if weekend shifts are scheduled, those weekend shifts may be worked remotely.
Qualifications
Education and experience:
High School Diploma from an accredited school or equivalent.
Medical Assistant associate’s degree/diploma or Medical Assistant Certificate or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) required.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a managed care setting.
Data entry and computer experience of at least two years.
Proficient in ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding procedures.
Experience with medical terminology.
