Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Processor for a direct hire opportunity in El Monte, CA. This role is ideal for a residential lending professional who enjoys managing loan files from submission through underwriting support while delivering excellent service to borrowers, mortgage loan officers, underwriters, and third-party partners.
The Mortgage Loan Processor will manage a pipeline of residential mortgage and home equity line of credit files, review documentation for accuracy and compliance, and help ensure loans move through the process efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a pipeline of residential mortgage loans and home equity line of credit files from initial review through underwriting and closing coordination.
- Review loan documentation for completeness, accuracy, compliance, and potential issues before submission to underwriting.
- Communicate with mortgage loan officers, borrowers, underwriters, closing agents, and third-party service providers to satisfy loan conditions.
- Ensure assigned loans are processed within established service level expectations and internal timelines.
- Apply knowledge of loan program guidelines, residential lending regulations, and internal credit policies throughout the loan process.
- Provide professional, responsive customer service to internal teams and external customers.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage residential mortgage and home equity line loan files in a multi-state lending environment.
- Review, organize, and assemble complete loan files for underwriting submission.
- Coordinate underwriting conditions with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, closing agents, and third-party providers.
- Support timely loan processing while maintaining compliance with lending regulations and internal policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of residential lending, loan processing, or related mortgage experience required.
- Good working knowledge of residential lending regulations, mortgage loan processing, and loan program guidelines.
- Ability to develop a strong understanding of credit policies, approval processes, and documentation requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify documentation issues and resolve problems proactively.
- Excellent organizational, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- PC proficiency and ability to work effectively in a paper-based or digital loan processing environment.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to perform well in a fast-paced, changing business environment.
- Team-oriented professional with a strong commitment to customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual Mandarin skills preferred.
- Paperless loan processing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of portfolio mortgage processing preferred.
- Experience processing home equity lines of credit preferred.
