We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Mortgage Loan Processor to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing residential mortgage loan files from application through closing, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with company and regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively with borrowers and internal partners, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Process residential mortgage loan applications from submission through funding
Collect, review, and verify borrower documentation including income, assets, credit, and property information
Order and review third-party services (appraisals, title, escrow, verifications)
Ensure loan files meet investor, lender, and regulatory requirements (TRID, RESPA, CFPB)
Maintain accurate and timely loan status updates in the loan origination system
Communicate proactively with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and closing teams
Resolve documentation or underwriting conditions efficiently to meet closing deadlines
Ensure files are complete and ready for underwriting and closing
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a Mortgage Loan Processor (conventional, FHA, VA, jumbo preferred)
Strong understanding of mortgage guidelines, underwriting requirements, and compliance standards
Experience with loan origination systems (Encompass preferred)
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred
Preferred Skills
DE or LAPP processing experience
Experience working in retail or correspondent lending environments
Knowledge of state-specific mortgage regulations
Customer-service mindset with a proactive problem-solving approach
