The Medical Device Assembler II is responsible for assembling medical devices across multiple product lines while meeting quality, safety, and productivity standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and the ability to follow precise manufacturing procedures in a regulated environment.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
In lieu of a diploma: 2–3 years of prior medical device assembly or ISO-certified assembly experience required
1–2 years of previous experience in medical device or ISO-certified assembly
Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in person with supervisors and team members
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written work instructions
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Ability to work in a clean room environment and follow all associated protocols
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent pace, sequence, and accuracy
Fine motor skills and strong hand-eye coordination for working with small parts and subassemblies
Ability to operate manufacturing and measurement equipment after training, including:
Microscopes
Test equipment
EFD dispensers
Ultrasonic welders
Soldering irons
Dial calipers
Pressure gauges
Rulers
Basic MS Windows skills and ability to learn site-specific software
Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Lean Manufacturing preferred
Ability to maintain confidentiality of documents and processes
Key Responsibilities
Perform all duties associated with the Assembler I role with demonstrated proficiency
Assemble medical devices on two or more product lines at or above standard production rates
Follow and reference written procedures in compliance with Quality System Policies
Complete accurate production documentation, including:
Device History Records
Data Sheets
Lot Control documentation
Follow instructions from supervisors and leads regarding priorities, schedules, and job standards
Adapt to procedural changes and learn new processes as product lines evolve
Cross-train on multiple product line operations as needed
Assist Assembler III or Lead personnel in training activities
Apply general understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles to support continuous improvement
Proactively notify supervisors of material shortages
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all safety and ergonomic guidelines
Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts when required
Use time effectively, remain focused on assigned tasks, and avoid unnecessary disruptions
Participate in Shared Leadership activities such as:
Kanban management
Calibration support
Metrics board maintenance
Perform all other essential duties as assigned
