You'll work closely with vendors, providers, and internal departments to maintain accurate financial records and support efficient patient account management.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
Minimum 1 year of experience in:
Medical billing
Accounts receivable payment posting
Physician practice or healthcare environment
Technical Skills
Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems
NextGen Patient Accounting System preferred
Accurate data entry and reporting skills
Experience working with electronic payment files and payment reconciliation
Additional Skills
Strong attention to detail and organization
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of payer contracts and denial management
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities: Process and post payments received from electronic vendors, lockboxes, medical offices, and collection agencies
Perform daily reconciliation of deposits and payment batches
Upload and manually post cash transactions, denials, and zero-payments into practice management systems
Balance batches and ensure proper claim disposition according to department guidelines
Reconcile electronic payment files to ensure complete and accurate data transmission
Maintain provider-level adjustment records and reconcile patient accounts
Process account adjustments and transfers
Organize and maintain payment files, reports, and supporting documentation
Collaborate with Accounting to ensure timely month-end account reconciliation
Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding payment processing and cash services
Support compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and system utilization requirements
