Job Summary

A growing healthcare organization in the Shreveport/Bossier City area is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a healthcare billing professional who enjoys working with insurance claims, patient accounts, authorizations, and reimbursement follow-up in a fast-paced medical office environment.

The Medical Biller will play an important role in keeping revenue cycle operations accurate, timely, and compliant. This opportunity offers a stable Monday through Friday day shift, an onsite team environment, and the potential to transition into a permanent position. Key Responsibilities

- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorization requirements.
- Submit, monitor, and follow up on medical insurance claims to support timely reimbursement.
- Review Explanation of Benefits, resolve billing discrepancies, and assist with denial follow-up or appeals.
- Communicate with insurance carriers, patients, and internal team members regarding coverage, claim status, payments, and account questions.
- Enter and update patient demographic, insurance, and billing information accurately in company systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation while following HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $15.00 to $18.00 per hour.
- Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, Day Shift.
- Location: Bossier City, LA, serving the Shreveport/Bossier City area.
- Work Arrangement: Onsite.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage medical billing functions, including insurance verification, claims submission, and reimbursement follow-up.
- Review EOBs, identify billing discrepancies, and support denial resolution.
- Obtain and track prior authorizations as needed.
- Support patient account inquiries, payment questions, and billing documentation.

- 1 to 2 years of experience in medical billing, medical office administration, healthcare revenue cycle, or a related healthcare billing role.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, claims processing, EOB review, prior authorizations, and denial management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and medical billing software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills when working with patients, insurance carriers, and internal staff.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain professionalism in a busy healthcare environment.
- Understanding of HIPAA requirements and patient confidentiality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience obtaining and tracking prior authorizations.
- Previous experience using EMR systems and healthcare billing software.
- Background supporting patient accounts, payment arrangements, and insurance carrier follow-up.
- Experience working in an onsite medical office or healthcare administration setting.
