Job Summary:
LabInfo is seeking a dynamic, customer-oriented professional to serve as a Billing System Specialist. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing, training, and providing technical support to clients in all areas related to the billing module of our laboratory services. This role is essential to ensure billing process efficiency, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence within the company.
Main Responsibilities:
Respond to and manage service calls to diagnose and resolve billing module issues, both remotely and on-site.
Update the system according to insurer billing changes.
Configure submission directories, forms, billing files, and diagnostic codes (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT).
Detect and correct patient entry errors and support reconciliation and rebilling processes.
Populate the billing module during new installations, including creation of templates, rates, and insurer configurations.
Provide training to new and existing clients on the use of the billing module and system updates.
Prepare daily activity reports and complete ISO forms for billed services.
Maintain professional, timely, and courteous communication with clients, supervisors, and colleagues.
Actively participate in the organizational culture of efficiency, innovation, and service excellence.
Additional Responsibilities:
Generate and close service tickets.
Assist in handling phone calls.
Stay updated on technological developments and system improvements.
Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Course in medical insurance billing.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare and/or clinical laboratory billing.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Proficiency with coding manuals (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT).
Knowledge of electronic billing modules.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Strong customer service orientation, professionalism, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational, time management, and teamwork abilities.
