Job Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician in Milpitas, CA. This role is ideal for an experienced hands-on builder who can take engineering drawings, work instructions, BOMs, and a complete kit of materials, then independently produce a finished cable, mechanical, or electromechanical assembly that meets specification.
This is not a repetitive assembly-line position. The right candidate will enjoy owning complete builds from start to finish in a quality-focused manufacturing environment. You will work with a variety of components, hardware, connectors, wiring, and subassemblies while collaborating with a team that values precision, accountability, clear communication, and strong workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
- Build complete cable, wire harness, mechanical, or electromechanical assemblies from engineering drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and kitted materials.
- Interpret assembly documentation and follow required processes to produce high-quality finished assemblies.
- Perform hands-on assembly tasks involving hardware, connectors, wiring, routing, labeling, subassemblies, and related components.
- Inspect work for accuracy, fit, function, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
- Identify drawing, material, fit, or assembly issues and communicate concerns before proceeding.
- Work independently in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment with changing assembly requirements.

- Compensation: $27.00 to $30.00 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Build complete assemblies from start to finish using drawings, instructions, BOMs, and kitted materials.
- Perform cable, wire harness, mechanical, or electromechanical assembly work with strong attention to quality.
- Review documentation, identify potential build issues, and communicate problems clearly.
- Work independently while following documented processes and production requirements.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant mechanical assembly, cable assembly, wire harness assembly, or electromechanical assembly experience.
- Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and specifications.
- Experience receiving a complete kit of materials and independently producing a finished assembly to documented requirements.
- Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hardware, connectors, wiring, subassemblies, and production tools.
- For cable-focused candidates, experience with wire preparation, stripping, crimping, connector assembly, routing, labeling, and related cable or harness processes.
- Ability to work in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment where builds may vary from job to job.
- Strong attention to detail, quality mindset, and commitment to consistent workmanship.
- Dependable, punctual, responsible, and able to maintain consistent quality with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting semiconductor equipment, capital equipment, or complex electromechanical systems.
- Prior experience working in electronics, components, semiconductor manufacturing, or related contract manufacturing environments.
- Background building advanced cable assemblies, wire harnesses, mechanical assemblies, or electromechanical assemblies for complex equipment.
- Experience in production environments where technicians are responsible for full assembly ownership rather than a single repetitive operation.
