Job Summary
We are seeking a Meat Cutter/Butcher for a direct hire opportunity in Hialeah, FL, with additional openings in Miami, Coral Gables, Weston, Doral, and Aventura. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on food preparation, customer interaction, and learning the trade of cutting, trimming, preparing, and presenting high-quality meats.
This is both a customer service and skilled trade position. You will work in a fast-paced food service or retail meat environment where product quality, cleanliness, presentation, and customer satisfaction are key. The role offers the opportunity to build valuable butchery skills, learn about meat quality and cooking styles, and grow within a supportive team-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, bone, tie, grind, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, fish, and other meat products for customer purchase or cooking use.
- Wrap, weigh, label, price, and display meat products in an attractive and organized manner.
- Assist customers by explaining different cuts, recommending products, and preparing special orders.
- Receive, inspect, store, and track meat deliveries to help maintain product quality and inventory accuracy.
- Estimate supply needs, requisition meat products, and maintain proper stock levels.
- Handle sales transactions, collect payments, and maintain accurate records of meat sales or product usage.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $35,400 to $52,000 per year.
- Job type: Direct hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Prepare consumer-sized meat portions through cutting, trimming, boning, tying, grinding, and related butcher tasks.
- Provide customer service by recommending cuts, explaining product options, and supporting special orders.
- Maintain attractive meat displays, accurate labeling, and proper product rotation.
- Receive, inspect, store, and track meat inventory to support freshness and quality.
- Must be bilingual Spanish
- 1 to 2 years of related meat cutting, butcher, food preparation, grocery, market, or food service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of meat cuts, basic preparation methods, safe knife handling, and food quality standards.
- Ability to use butcher knives, boning knives, skewers, twine, grinders, scales, wrapping equipment, and labeling tools.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and recommend products.
- Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, storage, and handling procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, teamwork, and willingness to learn the trade.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a refrigerated or fast-paced food service environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a butcher shop, meat market, grocery meat department, restaurant, or food service operation.
- Familiarity with specialty cuts, roasts, curing, smoking, tenderizing, or meat preservation techniques.
- Previous cash handling, inventory tracking, or customer sales experience.
