We are seeking an experienced Material Planner / Demand Planner to support our aerospace manufacturing operations in Fountain Valley, CA. This is a critical role for a highly analytical, detail-oriented planner with strong ERP and MRP expertise who can translate customer demand into executable production and material plans.
This position requires a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is driven to improve on-time delivery, planning accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead material planning, demand planning, and production scheduling activities to balance material availability, production capacity, and customer priorities.
Drive On-Time Delivery (OTD) through effective master production scheduling and execution.
Monitor and improve key planning KPIs including schedule adherence, OTD, inventory optimization, and lead-time reduction.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to resolve material shortages and capacity constraints.
Proactively identify risks related to materials, labor, suppliers, and capacity, and implement mitigation plans.
Maintain high levels of ERP/MRP data accuracy, including planning parameters, lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, and demand signals.
Serve as a subject matter expert in ERP and MRP, clearly explaining system logic, outputs, and planning assumptions.
Lead schedule review meetings with production and operations leadership, providing visibility into risks, recovery plans, and execution priorities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, ERP usage, and supply chain execution.
Mentor and support junior planners to strengthen planning capabilities and bench strength.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in material planning, demand planning, production planning, or supply chain planning.
Manufacturing experience required; aerospace manufacturing strongly preferred.
Strong hands-on experience with ERP systems and MRP modules.
Experience with Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and demand management.
Proven ability to analyze demand, interpret MRP outputs, and convert them into actionable production and material plans.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Results-driven mindset with a strong focus on customer service and continuous improvement.
