Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Material Handler for a contract opportunity in Pittsburg, CA. This role supports warehouse operations in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment, with responsibility for the safe receipt, storage, movement, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive, store, retrieve, stage, and distribute raw materials and finished goods to support production schedules.
- Verify materials, batch numbers, quantities, process orders, and inventory records for accuracy.
- Use SAP and warehouse management systems to process transactions, update inventory locations, and document discrepancies.
- Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment while following all safety and housekeeping standards.
- Handle, store, and dispose of materials in compliance with chemical manufacturing and hazardous material procedures.
- Communicate with warehouse, planning, and production teams to support deadlines, process improvements, and daily workflow.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $23 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Location: Pittsburg, CA.
- Training schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Regular schedule after training: 4-day workweek, 4 x 10-hour shifts.
- Regular shift options may include Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday.
- Schedule is assigned based on business needs.
- Candidates must be flexible to work overtime and alternate shifts as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Receive, move, stage, and distribute materials in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using SAP or warehouse management systems.
- Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely while following established procedures.
- Support production schedules by pulling materials, verifying quantities, and documenting discrepancies.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Ability to obtain company forklift certification within the first 30 days of employment.
- Ability to pass basic math and skills assessment testing.
- Strong English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to work with warehouse systems.
- Excellent attendance, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, rotating shifts, alternate shifts, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to work safely in a physically demanding warehouse and chemical manufacturing environment.
- 3 to 5 years of related material handling, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or logistics experience preferred for this experience level.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material handling experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing or chemical production environment.
- SAP or inventory management system experience.
- Prior forklift operation experience.
