Professional Law Firm in downtown San Diego is seeking a professional Mass Tort Paralegal.
As a Mass Tort paralegal you would support attorneys handling large-scale civil cases where many plaintiffs are harmed by the same product, action, or event.
Core Responsibilities
Mass tort paralegals manage high volumes of clients and detailed case data.
Case Management
Maintain and organize large client databases (often hundreds or thousands of plaintiffs)
Track deadlines, filings, and court requirements
Assist with case intake and screening
Client Communication
Interview potential clients and gather background information
Maintain ongoing communication with clients about case status
Collect medical records, employment records, and other evidence
Document Handling
Draft legal documents (complaints, discovery requests, authorizations)
Review and summarize medical records and other evidence
Organize exhibits and case files for litigation
Discovery & Litigation Support
Assist attorneys during discovery (document production, interrogatories)
Prepare materials for depositions and trials
Coordinate with experts, vendors, and co-counsel
Data & Compliance
Work with case management software and spreadsheets
Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines, especially in multidistrict litigation (MDL)
Key Skills
Strong organizational ability (handling large caseloads is critical)
Attention to detail (especially with medical and legal records)
Communication skills (client-facing role)
Tech proficiency (case management systems, Excel, document review tools)
Ability to multitask under pressure
Education & Qualifications
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree (paralegal studies preferred)
Paralegal certificate (preferred)
Experience in personal injury or litigation is highly valued
