A leading marine diesel parts dealer specializing in Cummins marine engines and high-performance aftermarket components is seeking a Marine Diesel Parts Sales & Technical Specialist. This role supports both e-commerce and local customers and offers the opportunity to grow into a true product expert within a respected niche industry.
We have earned a strong reputation in the marine community by prioritizing technical knowledge, product quality, and long-term customer relationships. Although most business is conducted online, we also serve a loyal in-person customer base at our Oxnard facility.
This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined and eager to build deep product expertise. While prior marine diesel experience is not required, candidates with a technical or hands-on background—such as mechanics, machine shop workers, hardware or parts counter staff, trades workers (plumbing/electrical), fabrication professionals, or those with engineering or technical schooling—will excel and learn quickly.
Responsibilities
Answer inbound customer calls and assist with identifying and selecting the correct parts
Assist walk-in customers at the parts counter
Create sales orders and process customer payments
Learn and understand proprietary product lines and their technical applications
Support light shipping, receiving, and stocking tasks as needed
Occasionally assemble precision components such as aftercoolers and seawater pumps
Maintain organized inventory and contribute to accuracy efforts
Engage in a hands-on environment where product knowledge directly supports sales and customer service
Preferred
Mechanical aptitude or direct experience using tools or working with machinery
Technical education (trade school, engineering, diesel technology, automotive, fabrication, etc.)
Experience in marine, automotive, diesel, industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments
Familiarity with parts diagrams, mechanical assemblies, or component identification
Who Succeeds in This Role
You do not need existing marine diesel knowledge. What you must bring is a strong technical foundation, curiosity, and the ability to understand mechanical systems and components. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to develop specialized expertise in a stable and growing industry.
