We are seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager for a well established automotive manufacturing company in Salisbury, NC to oversee all daily manufacturing operations including assembly, shipping, scheduling, inventory coordination, and operational execution across production departments. With a strong focus on safety and quality, this key leadership role improves operational workflows while reducing backlog and operational inefficiencies.

Additional Skills

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead daily manufacturing and assembly operations across axle, metal driveshaft, carbon fiber driveshaft, shipping, and related support areas.
• Coordinate production priorities with scheduling, engineering, quality, inventory, and sales teams to support on-time delivery and backlog reduction.
• Support company goals related to shipment velocity, customer experience, and manufacturing efficiency
• Monitor and improve throughput, WIP levels, labor utilization, and production flow across departments.
• Supervise managers, supervisors, and production employees, including coaching, accountability, discipline, performance evaluations, and staffing.
• Drive operational KPI reporting, including throughput, backlog, WIP pressure, RTFT%, shipment velocity, and production output trends.
• Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve production constraints, workflow bottlenecks, and recurring operational issues.
• Coordinate training and cross-training activities to improve operational flexibility and workforce coverage.
• Support ERP system utilization and operational reporting within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related reporting tools.  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and manufacturing safety expectations.
• Participate in strategic operational planning and operational improvement initiatives.
• Support new product launches, equipment installations, and process improvement projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing operations leadership experience required. Experience leading production teams within a high-mix manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate operational priorities, coaching feedback, safety expectations, and production updates verbally and in writing.
• Ability to analyze production metrics, labor efficiency, throughput data, inventory trends, and operational KPIs.
• Strong leadership, conflict resolution, scheduling coordination, and continuous improvement mindset.
• Forklift certification preferred; OSHA and Lean Manufacturing training preferred. ERP system utilization & Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Occasional travel for training, vendor visits, or operational support may be necessary.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
