Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager - Food for a direct hire opportunity in Riverside, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on operations leader with deep food manufacturing experience, strong technical knowledge, and a passion for building efficient, safe, and high-performing production environments.

The Manufacturing Manager will oversee daily plant operations, lead production teams, ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. This is a high-impact leadership role within a fast-paced food and beverage production environment where quality, safety, teamwork, and operational excellence are top priorities.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily food processing plant operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.
- Lead, train, coach, and develop production teams while fostering a positive, safe, and productive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, OSHA, FSMA, environmental regulations, and internal quality control procedures.
- Manage production schedules, staffing levels, inventory flow, and coordination with procurement, distribution, and other internal teams.
- Analyze production data, track KPIs, identify process improvement opportunities, and support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair needs to minimize downtime and support operational efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $120,000 to $125,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Oversee full plant production operations within a food manufacturing environment.
- Manage production schedules, staffing, quality standards, and operational performance.
- Lead continuous improvement, cost savings, and process optimization initiatives.
- Ensure plant compliance with food safety, workplace safety, and regulatory requirements.

- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in food processing, food production, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, FSMA, OSHA, and food safety regulations.
- Experience leading large production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong ability to analyze production data, track KPIs, and recommend operational improvements.
- Experience with ERP systems, production technology, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong project management, organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Commitment to quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience managing plant budgets and preparing operational reports for senior leadership.
- Prior experience implementing plant policies, procedures, and performance improvement programs.
- Six Sigma or Lean certification preferred.
