The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving production processes related to printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies and cable harness manufacturing. This role ensures efficient, high-quality production through process development, technical documentation, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate has strong experience interpreting engineering blueprints and schematics, and possesses hands-on knowledge of electronics manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for PCB assemblies and cable harness production.

Interpret and analyze engineering blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams to support production builds.

Provide technical guidance to production teams on PCB assembly, soldering processes, cable routing, crimping, and harness assembly.

Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and assembly procedures.

Support new product introductions (NPI) by collaborating with design engineering to ensure manufacturing ability.

Troubleshoot production issues related to PCB boards, cable harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Validate tooling, fixtures, and test equipment for PCB and harness production.

Ensure compliance with quality standards such as IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and ISO requirements.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, reduce scrap, and enhance efficiency.

Support DFMEA/PFMEA activities and process validation protocols.

Work closely with Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to meet delivery and cost objectives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

6+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing environment.

Strong experience with:

PCB assembly (SMT and/or through-hole)

Cable harnessing and wiring assemblies

Reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams

Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 preferred).

Experience with process documentation and technical writing.

Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
