Cable Design & Manufacturing Engineer

?? Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 annually
About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on, technically skilled Cable Design & Manufacturing Engineer to support the design, development, and production of high-performance cable products and assemblies. This is an on-site role with occasional travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop new cable and cable assembly products and manufacturing processes
Support production teams with technical guidance and process improvements
Create and maintain assembly/test instructions, rework procedures, and electrical test parameters
Develop and qualify test fixtures and equipment (IQ/OQ/PQ)
Collaborate with Sales and Quality teams to meet customer and regulatory requirements
Interpret and apply standards (UL, CSA, MIL-STD, IPC-610/620, ASTM, NEC)
Troubleshoot test equipment and resolve manufacturing issues
Train production staff on new processes and maintain documentation
Interface directly with customer engineers on product development
Qualifications:
Education: EE or BS in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
Experience:
Experience with cable product design and manufacturing equipment (extruders, cablers, braiders, etc.)
Familiarity with cable assembly operations (cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, molding)
Willingness to learn—training provided
Skills:
Knowledge of cable construction and electrical characteristics (impedance, capacitance, etc.)
Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and travel occasionally
