The Manual Machinist will work in our full-service machine shop to support repair, maintenance, and fabrication projects for a wide range of industrial equipment. This role requires high mechanical aptitude, precision machining skills, and the ability to produce quality work that meets customer expectations and supports our commitment to minimizing downtime for industrial clients.
Key Responsibilities
Operate manual machine tools including lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders for repair and fabrication work.
Machine, repair, and refurbish components for hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, gear systems, and other industrial equipment.
Perform inspections, measurements, and machining adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Collaborate with the hydraulic repair and fabrication team to support custom builds such as push-pull cables, pneumatic lines, metal hydraulic lines, grease skids, and test stands.
Assist with troubleshooting worn or damaged machine components and recommend appropriate repairs.
Maintain shop equipment, tools, and workstations in a clean, safe, and efficient condition.
Support emergency and quick-turn repairs to help customers minimize downtime.
Follow all safety procedures, company standards, and quality control requirements.
Qualifications
Required
2+ years of experience in manual machining (lathe, mill, etc.).
Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting speeds, and material behavior.
Ability to measure precisely using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges.
Mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial or heavy-equipment parts.
Ability to lift and position heavy parts safely.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred
Experience in hydraulic repair, pump/motor rebuilds, or industrial equipment servicing.
Background working in an industrial, fabrication, or MRO environment.
Familiarity with metal fabrication or welding is a plus.
