We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Media, PA. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with boiler room experience and a strong background in steam systems, building maintenance, and emergency repair support.
The Maintenance Technician will help keep critical facility systems operating safely and efficiently while supporting a collaborative maintenance team. Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, maintain, and operate steam systems, boilers, oil burners, valves, pumps, gauges, and related boiler room equipment.
- Monitor boiler water levels, regulate fuel and oil flow, record fuel usage, and ensure equipment is operating safely and properly.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations and complete necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain the pump room and assigned facility areas while reporting malfunctioning equipment or safety concerns.
- Troubleshoot and repair general building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, doors, hardware, flooring, painting, and drywall.
- Assist technicians with complex repairs, diagnostic work, special projects, and general facility maintenance tasks as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Pay range: $22 to $24 per hour.
- Perform boiler room operations, including steam system maintenance, boiler firing, water level monitoring, and pressure control.
- Troubleshoot and complete repairs across mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, flooring, painting, and general building systems.
- Respond to emergency maintenance needs and assist with complex repairs and diagnostic work.
- Operate tools, equipment, lifts, and maintenance machinery safely and effectively.
- Must have boiler room experience.
- 3 to 5 years of maintenance technician experience preferred for this level of role.
- Experience with installation, repair, and maintenance of steam systems and boiler equipment.
- Ability to read and follow safety procedures and work safely in mechanical and facility maintenance environments.
- Basic knowledge of light plumbing tasks, including fixture replacement, leak repair, and unclogging.
- Ability to complete painting, surface preparation, drywall patching, carpet tile replacement, and base cove replacement.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, dependability, and a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
- Ability to respond quickly to urgent repair needs and communicate equipment concerns clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting maintenance operations in a commercial, institutional, industrial, or large facility environment.
- Familiarity with multiple building trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repair.
- Experience assisting senior technicians or specialized trades with complex repair and diagnostic work.
