AppleOne is currently recruiting an experienced Maintenance Plant Mechanic for a direct hire opportunity in the food and beverage industry. The Maintenance Plant Mechanic will support preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of processing, packaging, utility, and ancillary equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and maintenance work orders on processing, packaging, utility, and plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime and support production efficiency.
- Complete equipment installations and repairs in compliance with food safety, GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct weekly plant inspections, identify deficiencies, and report equipment concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Follow all safety policies, including strict Lock Out Tag Out procedures, proper PPE usage, and safe work practices.
- Support other mechanics and cross-functional teams while ensuring temporary repairs are followed by permanent corrective solutions.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $46,000 to $65,000 per year.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Location: Riverside, CA.
- Overtime may be required as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Complete preventive maintenance assignments and maintenance work orders accurately and on schedule.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production, packaging, utility, and ancillary equipment.
- Support equipment reliability, production efficiency, and plant safety through timely maintenance and issue resolution.
- Follow GMP, food safety, PPE, and Lock Out Tag Out procedures at all times.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience required.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Electrical knowledge of motors, contactors, VFDs, and multimeter use.
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot powertrain components, including gearboxes, motors, sprockets, pulleys, chains, and belts.
- Knowledge of proper lubrication practices for bearings, chains, and related components.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, CAD drawings, and regulatory information.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, shop tools, and precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Professional, dependable, safety-focused, and able to respond quickly and effectively when equipment issues arise.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 years of industrial maintenance experience with one employer preferred.
- Welding experience, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
- Knowledge of boilers and air compressors.
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills preferred.
- Experience in food and beverage production or another GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
