A food manufacturing company in Fresno, CA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic / Leader for a direct hire opportunity. This full-time role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional who can lead teams, improve equipment reliability, and support safe, efficient production operations.
The Maintenance Mechanic / Leader will play a key role in reducing downtime, strengthening preventive maintenance programs, and supporting compliance with food safety, quality, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor maintenance technicians and supervisors to promote safety, accountability, and strong performance.
- Plan, prioritize, and oversee preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, and PLC-related equipment issues.
- Manage equipment installations, capital projects, vendor relationships, maintenance budgets, and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, HACCP, SQF, food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve production efficiency.

- Pay range: $30 to $35 per hour.

- Lead maintenance operations and support technician development in a food manufacturing environment.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, equipment reliability, and production uptime initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and support mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, and PLC systems.
- Manage maintenance projects, budgets, spare parts inventory, compliance requirements, and vendor coordination.
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC knowledge.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System, or CMMS.
- Ability to manage maintenance budgets, project timelines, equipment installations, and compliance priorities.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, GMP, HACCP, SQF, and food safety standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in food, beverage, dairy, bakery, consumer packaged goods, or CPG manufacturing.
- Familiarity with SQF, HACCP, GMP, and other food safety or quality systems.
- Experience supporting capital projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
