Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Oxnard, CA
Temp-to-Hire
Summary: Maintenance personnel are responsible for conducting maintenance and upkeep of the entire facility, including factory equipment, machinery, and overall plant maintenance.
Duties include preventive maintenance program activities, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems and supporting the facility to ensure maximum production quality and quantity while supporting company objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements.
• Complete maintenance work order and preventive maintenance activities
• Assist Maintenance Manager with external contractors and vendors.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance materials, supplies and repair parts
• Support production by responding to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
• Assist with activities dismantling, moving, installing and/or repairing of equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment breakdown issues.
Knowledge and Skills
• 3+ years technical experience in the food or beverage industry
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance program development, implementation, and prioritization.
• Strong accountability and follow-through skills
• Ability to life 50 pounds
• General project management skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills as it relates to disseminating and gathering information to staff and management.
• Ability to understand technical issues and understand impact on projects, and effectively communicate these issues and impact to direct reports
• Bilingual skills in Spanish and English preferred
Qualifications:
• Food industry maintenance experience.
• Welding, fabrication, or machining experience.
• Experience with sensors, HMIs, automation systems.
