Maintenance Engineering Manager - Manufacturing

Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000 annual base + up to 20% annual bonus
Position Objective
The Maintenance Engineering Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all activities related to the repair, maintenance, purchase, and installation of machines, tools, equipment, buildings, grounds, and utility systems in a manufacturing plant. This role ensures operational efficiency, cost optimization, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards while supporting both local operations and global engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as part of the organizational management team and apply Lean Management principles.
• Lead maintenance, mechanical, drafting, machine shop, and central store room operations.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs in coordination with engineering and maintenance staff.
• Plan and implement methods to improve operations, reduce costs, and optimize labor and material utilization.
• Resolve technical and maintenance issues in collaboration with management, quality, and mechanical teams.
• Oversee purchasing processes for new equipment in coordination with Global Procurement.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
• Provide technical support to other manufacturing sites and corporate global engineering projects.
• Ensure adherence to safety, 6S, environmental, FDA, ISO, and company compliance standards.
• Control departmental budgets, expenditures, and capital appropriation documentation.
• Supervise installation projects ensuring equipment meets engineering and marketing specifications.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, vendors, contractors, and corporate stakeholders.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and/or 8–10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing plant operations.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance for PLC-based machinery, hydraulic systems, machine shop equipment, and utilities.
• Familiarity with ISO regulations related to manufacturing operations.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Advanced math and analytical skills, including probability, statistics, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, business applications, and internet-based systems.
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects with up to 30+ direct and indirect reports.
Compensation & Benefits
• Base salary: up to $90,000 annually
