Job Title: Mailroom Services Specialist
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr.
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Lexington Ave N, Arden Hills, MN 55126
Work Environment: Office / Distribution & Campus Support
Job Summary
This role supports mailroom and package distribution operations across a large campus environment. The position involves sorting, staging, delivering, and tracking mail and packages while maintaining strong communication with internal customers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, flexible, and capable of working both independently and within a team in a dynamic, fast-moving setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Sort and stage incoming letters and packages on the dock for distribution
• Scan and log packages using handheld devices and internal applications
• Deliver mail and packages across campus using carts and mapped routes
• Pick up outgoing mail and packages from designated mail stops
• Prepare and label outbound shipments, including FedEx and USPS
• Operate postage machines and assist with letter mail processing
• Track shipments and respond to internal email inquiries regarding delivery status
• Transport packages between campus locations as requested
• Maintain organization of staging and distribution areas
• Support additional mailroom and operational tasks as needed
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in mailroom, warehouse, or distribution roles preferred
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word)
• Ability to learn scanning systems and tracking tools
• Strong communication skills, including professional email responses
• Ability to read and navigate using maps for campus deliveries
• Ability to follow schedules while adapting to changing priorities
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (team lift for heavier items)
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
• Combination of office, dock, and campus-wide distribution environment
• Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the day
• Walking across campus and pushing/pulling carts and flatbeds
• Lifting and handling packages up to 50 lbs (with assistance for heavier items)
• Exposure to varying conditions when moving between buildings
