Job Title: Mail Clerk

Reports To: Client Services Supervisor/Manager
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Mail Clerk. You will be responsible for sorting, staging, delivering, and picking up mail and packages across campus. This role supports daily mail operations, customer service, and shipping/receiving functions in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Schedule & Pay:
• Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Pay rate: $20/hr
Responsibilities:
• Sort and stage letters and packages on the dock for delivery and outgoing shipments
• Check in packages using a provided scanning device and application
• Deliver mail and packages to campus mailstops using maps and small carts/flatbeds
• Pick up outgoing packages from mailstops and stage for distribution teams
• Look up tracking numbers and respond professionally to customer email inquiries
• Process letter mail using USPS postage machine
• Prepare, label, and ship outgoing FedEx packages
• Transport packages between campus locations upon request
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
• High school diploma or GED required; 1–2 years of related experience preferred
• Prior mailroom, copy, or shipping/receiving experience a plus
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
• Ability to read campus maps and follow mail delivery instructions
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently once trained and remain task-focused
• Flexible and adaptable to schedule changes due to weather, delays, or site conditions
• Basic electronics and copier equipment knowledge preferred
