Job Summary

A machine shop in San Marcos, CA is hiring a Machine Operator 2nd Shift for a temp-to-hire opportunity supporting CNC and laser cutting operations for parts used in the electronics industry. Key Responsibilities

- Operate CNC-controlled machines, including lasers, mills, lathes, and related production equipment.
- Load parts, operate machine controls, set offsets, make simple edits, deburr parts, and inspect finished work.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, manuals, and sample parts to confirm dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
- Measure and mark workpieces according to production requirements and machining sequences.
- Monitor machine performance, identify out-of-tolerance conditions, make basic adjustments, and report equipment issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform basic preventative maintenance as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $19 to $22 per hour, depending on experience.
- Entry-level range: $19 to $20 per hour.
- Experienced and tenured range: $20 to $22 per hour.
- Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.



Required Qualifications and Skills

- Operate CNC machines, laser cutting equipment, or other production machinery.
- Inspect machined parts for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
- Read drawings, specifications, and work instructions to support accurate production.
- Communicate with supervisors, quality, production, engineering, and shop personnel to resolve production or quality issues.

- 1+ years of machine operator experience preferred.
- Experience with milling, CNC equipment, laser cutting equipment, or similar machinery.
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to learn quickly and retain detailed production and machine operation information.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
- Ability to keep equipment and work areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Background check required upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

- CNC machining experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
- Experience making simple machine edits, setting offsets, or supporting machine setup.
- Familiarity with coding, programming, or marking programs.
- Experience working with parts for electronics, precision components, or close-tolerance production.
