Job Summary

We are seeking a Machine Operator to join a production and bindery team in Riverton, UT. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for someone with manufacturing, assembly, machine operation, or printing production experience who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.

As a Stitching Machine Helper or Bindery Assistant, you will support the lead operator with saddle stitching equipment used to bind booklets, magazines, catalogs, and other printed materials. This role offers steady production work, on-the-job learning, supportive team interaction, and a clear path to grow into a fully trained Stitcher Operator role.

Key Responsibilities

- Load printed signatures into stitcher pockets in the correct order to support efficient production flow.
- Assist the lead operator with machine setup, adjustments, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting.
- Inspect finished products for folding, trimming, stitching, or quality defects and report issues promptly.
- Move, lift, stack, count, and pack paper stock, printed materials, and finished products for shipment.
- Monitor equipment during operation to identify jams, misfeeds, or other machine issues.
- Help clean, lubricate, and complete routine basic maintenance on bindery equipment.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $17.00 to $18.00 per hour.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Location: Riverton, UT.
- Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Assist with saddle stitcher setup, machine feeding, and production line support.
- Monitor product quality and identify defects in folded, trimmed, stitched, or packed materials.
- Perform material handling, stacking, counting, and packing of finished goods.
- Support routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and safe operation of bindery equipment.

- 1 to 2 years of related experience preferred in manufacturing, production, assembly, bindery, or machine operation.
- Ability to stand for long periods and routinely lift 50 pounds or more.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operation and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read a ruler, including measurements up to 32nds and metric/mm.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Ability to work well with operators and production team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Safety-conscious mindset and ability to follow PPE and workplace safety requirements.
- Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in printing, bindery, saddle stitching, assembly line production, or machine operation.
- Experience handling paper stock, printed materials, or finished goods in a production environment.
- Interest in growing into a fully trained Stitcher Operator role.
