Position Summary: -Manage the inbound and outbound transportation of goods, including vendor coordination and freight optimization. -Oversee warehouse operations including inventory control, shipping, receiving, and storage. -Collaborate with procurement, production, and customer service teams to support manufacturing schedules and customer requirements. -Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to identify areas for improvement. -Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with freight carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs). -Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to transportation and storage. -Develop and maintain logistics budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service. Required Qualifications and Skills
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Logistics Manager to oversee and manage the logistics operations of our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of logistics in a manufacturing setting, and the ability to optimize processes to support production and delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
-Lead, train, and mentor a team of logistics and warehouse staff.
- Manage logistics operations across transportation, warehousing, inventory control, shipping, and receiving.
- Lead freight optimization, vendor coordination, carrier management, and 3PL relationships.
- Support manufacturing schedules through cross-functional planning with procurement, production, and customer service.
- Track KPIs, manage logistics budgets, and identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5 or more years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management, inventory systems, warehouse operations, and material flow.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to train, mentor, and manage logistics or warehouse teams.
- Experience negotiating with freight carriers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation and storage regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence initiatives.
- Background supporting production planning, manufacturing schedules, or plant-level supply chain operations.
- Experience developing logistics budgets and identifying measurable cost-saving opportunities.
