Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics & Traffic Coordinator to manage transportation and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the full order fulfillment cycle, ensuring cargo and merchandise are received and delivered in a timely, efficient, and secure manner while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Logistics
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Traffic and/or Logistics
Knowledge of cargo laws and transportation regulations
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong problem-identification and problem-solving skills
Fully bilingual (English & Spanish)
Proficient in PC use, Internet/email, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong verbal and written communication skills (phone and in-person)
Ability to effectively communicate key information to clients and suppliers
Key Responsibilities:
Manage transportation of purchased cargo and merchandise
Process orders and oversee the full order fulfillment cycle
Track all heavy and international freight shipments
Collect shipment details (weight, dimensions, origin, description) to obtain freight quotes
Evaluate and compare freight quotes to determine the most cost-effective and timely options
Submit required documentation for cargo release at seaports and/or airports
Analyze landed costs, including freight, product price, taxes, and related expenses
Ensure timely delivery of all orders to customers
Address and resolve delayed shipment issues
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the shipping process
Develop and optimize logistics and freight procedures
Resolve transportation, import/export, and logistics system issues
Participate in carrier selection, qualification, and performance evaluation
Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal import/export requirements
Negotiate freight rates and transportation services
Collaborate with suppliers and clients to improve supply chain efficiency and sustainability
Plan and implement logistics system and process improvements
Coordinate with internal departments (Sales, Accounting, Order Management, Shipping) to integrate logistics processes
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, safety performance, and quality management
Analyze logistics operations to determine the most cost-effective and efficient transportation methods
Perform other related duties as assigned
