Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Loan Servicing Professional to manage complex loan servicing and default administration from start to finish. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a hands-on lending professional with strong California private money or commercial real estate lending experience who can protect investor interests, communicate clearly, and take ownership of difficult loan situations.


Key Responsibilities

- Oversee day-to-day loan servicing activities, including payments, payoffs, reconveyances, and borrower and investor communication.
- Monitor delinquencies, senior liens, property taxes, insurance, and other risk indicators to identify issues early and take appropriate action.
- Negotiate directly with borrowers on workouts, loan modifications, forbearance agreements, and resolution strategies.
- Manage Notice of Default and foreclosure processes from initiation through completion in coordination with trustees and legal counsel.
- Coordinate with bankruptcy counsel, foreclosure attorneys, and eviction counsel to protect loan and investor interests.
- Manage REO properties acquired through foreclosure, including preservation, oversight, marketing, sale coordination, investor updates, distributions, and final entity wind-down.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire position.
- Salary range: $75,000 to $85,000 per year.
- Location: Aliso Viejo, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage loan servicing, default administration, and borrower and investor communications.
- Lead default resolution processes, including workouts, foreclosure, bankruptcy coordination, eviction, REO management, and final sale.
- Track loan performance, collateral risk, taxes, insurance, senior liens, and legal milestones.
- Coordinate with foreclosure trustees, attorneys, bankruptcy counsel, investors, and other external parties.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant loan servicing, default administration, private lending, or commercial real estate lending experience.
- Solid experience with California private money lending or commercial real estate lending.
- Hands-on experience taking loans through default, foreclosure, and resolution.
- Strong understanding of notes, deeds of trust, borrower obligations, investor interests, and collateral protection.
- Experience working with foreclosure trustees, legal counsel, bankruptcy counsel, and related third-party service providers.
- Ability to communicate professionally with borrowers, investors, attorneys, trustees, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, judgment, discretion, and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently, manage sensitive financial and legal matters, and make sound decisions with limited oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience managing REO properties after foreclosure, including property preservation, vendor coordination, marketing support, and sale processes.
- Experience negotiating borrower workouts, modifications, and forbearance agreements.
- Familiarity with California foreclosure timelines, bankruptcy impacts, eviction processes, and investor approval requirements.
- Prior experience in a boutique lending, private money lending, hard money lending, or investor-focused real estate finance environment.
