What You’ll Do
As a Litigation Secretary/Paralegal, you will directly support Personal Injury attorneys and assist other departments as needed. Your primary focus will be managing trial preparation and litigation support across 50–75 active matters. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing and overseeing litigation files with support from pod leaders and firm staff
Communicating with clients regarding case status and preparation
Handling attorney communications: screening calls, taking messages, and managing voicemail
Preparing and filing court documents via e-filing or hand delivery following court rules
Creating and maintaining organized litigation files
Drafting and serving discovery requests and responses
Coordinating deposition subpoenas and related correspondence
Gathering documents and evidence during discovery
Reviewing and summarizing documents from opposing counsel and medical providers
Managing attorney calendars including hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates
Scheduling court appearances and arranging attorney coverage
Drafting legal documents like deposition notices and coordinating service on parties
Scheduling interpreters and managing logistics for depositions, IMEs, and hearings
Assisting with trial preparation including exhibits, binders, and trial documents
Coordinating with medical and legal experts for deposition scheduling and document management
Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda, pleadings, correspondence, and tables
Scheduling meetings, conference calls, and travel arrangements
Maintaining electronic and hardcopy files in compliance with firm policies
Processing time summaries, reviewing billing, and preparing invoices
What We’re Looking For
Paralegal experience with trial exposure (Personal Injury preferred; Civil Litigation with trial experience and defense background considered)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage a high volume of litigation matters efficiently
Proficiency with legal software, court filing systems, and Microsoft Office
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
