Job Summary

A respected legal services team is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for a direct hire opportunity in the Ridgeland, MS area. This role supports a dedicated insurance defense caseload focused on general liability and casualty defense, offering full case ownership from initial suit through trial.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage multiple litigation files from onset of suit through trial, ensuring deadlines, documents, and case activity are handled accurately.
- Draft routine legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and production documents.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, discovery materials, and case-related documentation.
- Conduct document searches, factual research, information gathering, and legal research as needed to support case strategy.
- Maintain case-file systems and adapt to established firm processes while troubleshooting issues and creating practical solutions.
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, and internal team members to support efficient case progression.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $60,000 to $70,000 per year.
- Compensation may go up to $75,000 for exceptional candidates with directly aligned experience.
- Hybrid work arrangement: 4 days in office and 1 day work from home.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage full litigation case files from initial suit through trial.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and production documents.
- Analyze and summarize medical records, depositions, discovery, and case documents.
- Support insurance defense litigation involving general liability, casualty defense, or personal injury matters.

- Paralegal Certificate from an accredited school is required.
- 2+ years of experience as a personal injury, general liability, or casualty defense litigation paralegal is required.
- Litigation experience across all phases of a case is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with Adobe Professional or Adobe DC.
- Strong legal writing skills with the ability to draft clear, accurate, and professional legal documents.
- Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and sound judgment under tight deadlines.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills with attorneys, clients, and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
- Deep experience in personal injury litigation and medical record summarization.
- Insurance defense experience with carrier-related litigation work is highly preferred.
- Self-starter who can work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Adaptable, deadline-driven professional who can shift priorities without losing accuracy or momentum.
- Long-term career mindset with interest in growing with the firm.
