Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a fast paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of South Carolina state and federal court procedures, exceptional attention to detail, and hands on experience with electronic filing systems. This role is critical to ensuring accurate filings, organized case management, and adherence to litigation deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
• E Filing Management: Prepare and electronically file legal documents through South Carolina State and Federal court systems
• Document Preparation & Review: Draft, proofread, format, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents
• Case Management: Maintain and organize case files (electronic and physical), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and deadline compliance
• Attorney Support: Assist attorneys with scheduling, court filings, trial preparation, and overall case coordination
• Calendaring & Deadlines: Track litigation deadlines, hearings, and court dates to ensure compliance with court rules and procedures
• Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks including time entry, billing assistance, and travel arrangements as needed
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of litigation legal assistant experience; South Carolina experience strongly preferred
• E Filing Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of South Carolina State and Federal court electronic filing systems
• Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure and Federal court procedures
• Technology Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software
• Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and manage competing deadlines effectively
• Attention to Detail: Excellent proofreading, formatting, and document production skills
