About the Opportunity
Law Firm is seeking a highly experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support a busy, fast-paced defense practice. This role is open due to an internal transfer and requires a seasoned professional who thrives in large law firm environments and can confidently support multiple attorneys.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive litigation support from case inception through resolution
Prepare, draft, and proofread legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
File pleadings in Florida state courts in compliance with court requirements (federal experience a plus)
Manage complex calendaring, including calculating deadlines and scheduling hearings
Coordinate attorney schedules, client meetings, and court appearances
Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
Assist with client billing, including time entry, editing narratives, and invoice processing
Track expenses and process reimbursements
Collaborate with internal departments (conflicts, billing, records, etc.)
Handle high-volume communications, including phone calls, emails, and mail
Support attorney business development events and client-related activities
Qualifications
5–10+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant in a Florida law firm
Defense litigation experience is required
Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a large firm environment
Strong knowledge of Florida state court filing procedures (federal is a plus)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Experience with legal systems such as FileSite, CMS, SmartTime, and Aderant is a plus
Exceptional attention to detail with strong spelling, grammar, and formatting skills
Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads and meet tight deadlines
